Fundraising has taken a different meaning for Harmony School. On October 4th, 2015 Columbia, SC had a devastating flood that affected our small non-profit school. Harmony School provides a hands-on multi-sensory learning environment for ages preschool through fifth grade.   We had serious flooding in our main building where our three classrooms of preschool/k children reside.

To begin the repair process we’ve had to cut our walls 4 feet high, rip out doors, shelving and carpet. We were able to move our preschool/k children into two portables on our property for the time being.  Our parents have been wonderful and supportive through all of this devastation.

Harmony School has flood insurance; however our main building is an old building and due to the reconstruction that must happen we now have to bring the building up to “code.” This means thousands of more dollars our small non-profit school does not have.

Our costs to get back into our Preschool building have gone from $50,000 to $400,000!  Join us by supporting our annual fundraisers to help Harmony School!

Our annual Oyster Roast and Silent Auction takes place on Saturday, November 12, 2016.  This is our biggest fundraiser of the year!

For the 10th year, Harmony is hosting a fantastic evening featuring live music along with hot steamed oysters, chilled beer and wine and numerous varieties of warm, homemade chili. We’ll also have an awesome silent auction with items such as travel opportunities, restaurant gift certificates, children’s items, gifts, books and original hand-made art – all available to the highest (silent) bidder!

Spring Festival

Spring Festival is an annual fundraiser hosted in the spring! It features local food vendors, face painting and field day activities for families to enjoy.  We will continue to spotlight local bands and performers…this year we had “Pharaohs in Space”, drumming group “Next Door Drummers”, Sarah Dippity, John Tudor, LunaTrix Arts, Kore Wellness and the Serpentine Belly Dance Company.

Tickets are a minimum requested donation of $5.00 per person while children under age 2 are free. Check back in January 2017 for more information.
